After four years as ECDF Professor for "Digital Transformation and Strategic Information Management" at the Einstein Center Digital Future and Freie Universität Berlin, Prof. Christian Meske accepts the call of Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB): As of 01 September, Meske has been appointed Professor of Socio-Technical Systems Design and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute of Human Factors.

As already at ECDF, Meske's research has a strong interdisciplinary focus at RUB: The new professorship bridges the gap between the Institute of Ergonomics and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Meske continues to research how artificial intelligence (AI) affects the world of work. In addition to AI-based decision support systems, his research group is also looking at social bots and conversational agents, as well as technologies that can assist medical professionals with diagnoses.

"I am looking forward to the new opportunities that the tenured professorship at RUB will bring. The W3 professorship allows me to build up a large team of researchers and to conduct even more long-term research on specific topics, which I am particularly looking forward to. My time as a junior professor at the ECDF has had a great impact on me and I have been able to benefit from an excellent network of academia and practice, for which I am very grateful," explains Meske. In addition to his research on topics such as digital nudging and digital leadership, Meske was also involved in the ECDF board.

Christian Meske studied business administration at the University of Potsdam and earned his doctorate at the Institute of Information Systems at the University of Münster. He was subsequently a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Coordinator of the DFG Graduate School "User-Centred Social Media" at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Among others, he was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Sydney Business School and at Florida State University.
