Oxford-Berlin: New Collaboration

Prof. Dr. Timm Teubner from the Einstein Center Digital Future and Fabian Braesemann from the Oxford Internet Institute have initiated the new Social Data Science Collaboration. It brings together researchers from Oxford and Berlin who are interested in social data science and the digital platform economy.

The initative aims to intensify the cooperation between social data scientists in both cities in conducting joint research projects and establishing a thesis exchange framework. Students supervised by members of the social data science collaboration are invited for a short research visit at the partner university, where they are provided a work place, mentoring, and the opportunity to present their research project to fellow data scientists.

To kick of the knowledge exchange between social data scientists from Oxford and Berlin, the collaboration currently organises the first social datathon to be held at the Einstein Center Digital Future on May 9/10 2020. The datathon is organised in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Hertie School of Governance.
