Workshop: Digitale Anwendungen bei Bipolaren Störungen

On February 16-17, 2023, ECDF will welcome the workshop "Exploration of Needs, Goals, and Past Use of Digital Applications by Affected Persons of Bipolar Disorder - A Cross-Sectional Mixed-Methods Study (Digi-Bipo)“ by Charité-Universitätsmedizin

The main objective of this project is to investigate the unmet health care needs, past use of digital health technologies and digital health literacy of people affected by bipolar disorder. This goal is to be implemented with the help of an online survey. The data thus collected will later form the basis for the development of a digital health application (for example, an app) for people with bipolar disorder.

People with bipolar disorder will be involved as co-researchers not only in the data collection, but also in the creation and evaluation of the survey (participatory research). The aim is to gain a deeper
understanding of the individual perspective of people with bipolar disorder during the entire project implementation and thus also of the health needs and digital health literacy of this patient group.
An important point here is also the joint development of the questionnaire, i.e. the selection of the instruments as well as the formulation of suitable questions, since the survey partly refers to sensitive topics such as personal aspects of mental health. In this way, we want to ensure that subsequent participants feel comfortable with the survey.

The study is under the direction of Stefanie Schreiter, MD, senior physician and head of the Therapy Center for Bipolar Disorders Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Charité Campus Mitte. If you have any questions, please contact digi-bipo@charite.de
