Tilman Santarius took over the position of managing director of the German Climate Consortium (DKK) on September 16, 2024. Tilman Santarius was previously ECDF Professor for Social-Ecological Transformation and Sustainable Digitalization at ECDF and the Technical University of Berlin.
“After eight exciting and fruitful years at the TU Berlin, I am looking forward to the new role at the German Climate Consortium,” explains Santarius. In times of increasing populism, climate skepticism and fake news, it is more important than ever to bring scientifically sound arguments to the fore. I would like to contribute to this in my new role’.
Tilman Santarius remains associated with the ECDF as an associated researcher: “I am very pleased to be able to strengthen the dialog between science and politics as an associated researcher at ECDF. A clear and unambiguous voice of science is needed to meet the challenges of climate change,” says Santarius.
German climate research encompasses numerous facets, from basic to application-oriented research. The German Climate Consortium (DKK) represents the major players in German climate and climate impact research.
