On January 24, 2025, around 70 guests attended our New Year’s reception at the ECDF to toast to a successful new year 2025. Together we reviewed the highlights of 2024 and looked forward to an exciting new year full of opportunities in the field of digitalization and AI research.

Tabea Flügge (ECDF Spokesperson, Charité Berlin) and Martin Gersch (ECDF Spokesperson, FU Berlin) opened the ECDF New Year’s reception with short speeches, it was followed by short presentations of current research projects from the area of digitalization by our ECDF board members Daniel Fürstenau(FU Berlin) and Andrea Cominola (TU Berlin). A showcase of new exhibits in our demo area and the exhibition on digital colonialism enabled the guests to gain further insights into the digital future.

In addition, Janina Sundermeier (FU Berlin) was honored with the ECDF Award for Digitalization and Diversity 2024for her publication “It just seems that they don’t act like men’: The influence of gender role stereotypes on women’s entrepreneurial innovation activities”. We also used the celebratory setting to honor our permanent (“verstetigten”) ECDF professors in Berlin:

Thank you to all guests from business, science and politics for joining our new year’s reception and here’s to a successful and healthy new year!
