Since 2023, the Gender & Diversity Network of the ECDF has presented the Award for Digitalization and Diversity annually. The ECDF Award is given to the best work that addresses gender and diversity issues in the context of digitalization. This year, the deadline for submissions is October 31, 2025.

ECDF professors, their doctoral students, and postdocs are eligible to apply for the €1,000 prize. In order to recognize the broad spectrum of interdisciplinary and diverse work carried out by the ECDF, applications for work results such as exhibitions, installations, or other formats are also welcome.

In the inaugural round in 2023, the prize went to Daniela Rosner and Helena Mihaljević, whose award-winning publications address the topic of bias in very different ways. Last year, the prize went to Janina Sundermeier for her research on the influence of gender role stereotypes on women's digital entrepreneurial innovation activities.
