Workshop: Think, Play and Connect – Mastering Complexity in Engineering

In cooperation with © Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI) Bezirksverein Berlin-Brandenburg e. V.

On August 20, 2025, the Department of Digital Engineering 4.0 at Technische Universität Berlin, in cooperation with the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI) Bezirksverein Berlin-Brandenburg e. V., invites you to an interactive afternoon event. At the heart of the event lies the question: How can Systems Engineering be taught in a way that sparks curiosity, is enjoyable, and lowers barriers to entry? After all, Systems Engineering concerns everyone involved in designing systems. The growing complexity of technical systems and the increasing importance of interdisciplinary development approaches require new methods of communication and practical knowledge transfer.

In addition to an introduction to the topic of Systems Engineering and several interactive stations, the event offers space for reflection and exchange on innovative transfer formats, as well as the opportunity to connect with other participants. The event is specifically aimed at individuals with little or no prior experience in Systems Engineering –such as young engineers, students, early-career professionals, practicing engineers, or those interested in research and development.

The event is organized by Lydia Kaiser, ECDF Professor of “Digital Engineering 4.0” at Technische Universität Berlin.

Why participate?

  • Try out playful introductions to Systems Engineering

  • Take away ideas and tools for your own practice

  • Consciously experience systems thinking

  • Exchange ideas with other young engineers, practitioners, and SE experts
