The DiCE-Workshop "Pressure Testing Circular Business Models“ will take place from September 4-5, 2025, at the ECDF. The workshop takes place within the framework of the EU-funded project "Digital Health in the Circular Economy" (DiCE). This two-day workshop, led by Daniel Fürstenau, board member of the ECDF and professor of digital transformation and IT infrastructures at Freie Universität Berlin, brings together key players in the value chain to test and evaluate viable circular models brings together critical value chain actors to pressure test and evaluate viable circular business models for digital health products. Using various scenario-based assessments, the circular potential of two MedTech products will be analyzed:
ECG lead set (hospital use / medical device regulation)
Smart pillbox (home use / non-medical device regulation)
As part of the workshop, several circular models will be proposed, their weaknesses will be tested, and solutions discussed from the perspective of the value chain in order to create added value for the healthcare system. The workshop will include interactive group sessions, structured brainstorming, and joint reflections. All contributions will be incorporated into a public EU report (participants will remain anonymous).
