Workshop: Open Access Scenario Analyses

On February 4 and 5, 2026, the Kick-Off Event for the DFG-funded project "Open Access Scenario Analyses" will take place at the ECDF. ECDF Professor Heinz Pampel, Professor of Information Management at HU Berlin, is co-organizer. The project examines the financial development prospects of the Open Access transformation in scholarly publishing in Germany. Based on systematic data collection and analysis, as well as the development of future scenarios and quality standards for publication service providers, the project aims to produce well-founded recommendations for research institutions, funding organizations and other stakeholders, in order to further develop the financial and organizational structures of Open Access in a research-driven, transparent and sustainable way.

At the beginning of February, the project partners will meet in person for the first time to launch the project, clarify collaboration and plan the activities of the first project year in detail. The goal of the meeting is to coordinate responsibilities and interfaces between the work packages, particularly data collection, scenario development and quality standards, establish common working and communication structures and define initial content priorities for the upcoming stakeholder workshops and analyses.

Venue:

Einstein Center Digital Future
Conference Hall, 1st Floor
Wilhelmstr. 67

The workshop is not open to the public and is accessible only to invited guests.
