PwC – ECDF: AI Visions for Efficient Administration

The discrepancy between what is technically possible and what is actually implemented in the field of AI remains significant in public administration. While modern AI systems would already be capable of automating routine processes, preparing decision-making materials more quickly and accurately or offering citizens more intuitive digital services, their use in everyday administrative practice often remains fragmented and constrained by regulatory and organizational hurdles. Enthusiasm for innovation and technological maturity often face structural challenges—from missing standards and hesitant investment decisions to insufficient data quality and uncertainties in handling new responsibilities and risks.

On December 4, 2025, the joint event hosted by PwC and the ECDF on the topic “AI Visions for an Efficient Public Administration: How can AI more effectively enhance public administration and what strategic steps should follow?” will take place at the ECDF and shed light on the points mentioned above. We therefore aim to expand the new Digital Ministry’s guiding principle #WeAreDoing to #WeAreDoingTogether. To strengthen this perspective, we are bringing together diverse viewpoints from politics, public administration, academia and industry. The goal is to create a day full of exchange, inspiration and practical solutions. The event will be moderated by Ann Cathrin Riedel, publicist and expert on digital policy, administrative transformation and democracy.
