The event is part of the series "Historical Judgment" at the German Historical Museum in Berlin. In the 4th symposium of the series, aspects of the German occupation rule over a total of about 230 million people in today's 27 European countries will be highlighted. The discussions and lectures by international experts will focus on the question of how violence can be exhibited and what kind of objects can tell what stories about the tyranny.
Prof. Dr. Meike Hopp, associate member at the ECDF, will give a lecture at the event entitled "The German theft of cultural property in the occupied territories: Why Attempts at Categorization and Quantification Fail"
