European Commission: Engaging citizens in green digital and fair transition

Since 2015, the European Commission organizes the Connect University Summer School. This year on June, 30, 2021, 3-5 p.m., ECDF-Professor Prof. Philipp Staab will be hosting a session on sustainable market design with the title "Engaging citizens in green digital and fair transition".

The overarching topic of the Connect University Summer School initiative (21 June – 2 July 2021) is Digital for our Planet. High-level experts coming from EU Institutions, industry, academia will present cutting-edge innovations addressing how digital technologies can be harnessed to tackle climate change, both in terms of a greener digital system, as well as in their role in helping reducing carbon emissions across industries. 

Connect University is the knowledge-sharing flagship initiative of the European Commission’s Directorate General on Communication Networks, Content and Technologies (DG Connect) that aims to inform the public about the latest digital trends and challenges, which are highly linked with EU's relevant policies. Cutting-edge technologies placed high on the worldwide political agenda are presented, with the scope to foster inspiration, while enabling synergies between EU Institutions industry and academia. This European Commission project is a trademark for learning, networking and debates, raising awareness about the ongoing digital transition and preparing the society for the future changes, reaching out to Europe and beyond.
