The editathon "Twenty Years of LIBREAS" will take place on June 6, 2025, at the ECDF. ECDF Professor Heinz Pampel (Professor of Information Management at HU Berlin) is a co-organizer of the Wikipedia editathon, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of LIBREAS e. V..

Framed by an overview of the history, present, and (predictable) future of LIBREAS, participants will edit Wikipedia articles from the broad field of library and information science on June 6, 2025. Interesting and relevant articles will be pre-identified or selected spontaneously and will be expanded and improved during the editathon. Creating entirely new articles is also possible. What information, data, and facts are insufficient or missing? Where is the need for citations and/or optionally helpful links or content connections? These and many other questions and challenges will be addressed and hopefully answered in the plenary session, in small groups, and ultimately also individually, using examples.

The LIBREAS association aims to promote communication to and within the field of library and information science. With this, they wish to contribute to the further development and professionalization of the discipline. The focus of their activities is on actively supporting the diverse forms of science communication today, which explicitly includes variants in the social web.
