The exhibition “The Freedom to Be Free” will be on site at the Einstein Center Digital Future from March 3rd until the end of May 2025. Interested parties can register for a viewing by //E-Mail with Friedrich Schmidgall.
The exhibition showcases Berlin University of the Arts student's work, developed as part of a lecture series of the same name. The work explores, reflects, and critiques the topic of freedom in today’s society. The exhibition consists of student-generated A.I. imagery, a selection of their “critical machines” prototypes, as well as student artworks. The showcased A.I. images, generated by the students, are based on prompts inspired by the themes & topics discussed in lectures and reflect on how technology can shape our worldview through visual patterns, stereotypes, and biases generated by the algorithms. Students have also designed "critical machines" as conceptual rapid prototypes out of inexpensive materials with speculative, imaginary, and satirical functions that critique and comment on the state of freedom in contemporary society. Several artworks were also created that continue to explore the theme of freedom from unique and thought-provoking perspectives.
