From 5th to 6th December, 2024, the symposium "Anti-Semitic Symbols in Art Objects" will be held by the Art and Market Forum in cooperation with the Department of Digital Provenance Research at the TU Berlin and the Professorship for Art Education at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts.
The aim of the symposium is to bring together scientists, curators, artists and educators as well as museum and image experts in a transdisciplinary manner to examine the phenomenon of anti-semitism in works of art as a historical and contemporary cultural technique in a contextual, structural, qualitative and quantitative manner to research and at the same time to raise awareness of this phenomenon of social manipulation with its consequences that endanger democracy.
Meike Hopp, ECDF Associate member and junior professor at TU Berlin, is involved in the concept and organization of this event. The symposium will take place all day online (TU Zoom) on December 6th, 2024 and will open with an evening lecture on December 5th, 2024. Synopsis of a maximum of 2000 characters including spaces (German or English, lecture duration 20 minutes) as well as a short CV will be accepted until September 30th, 2024 (to be sent to: dorothee.wimmer@tu-berlin.de).
