The next AMBER (Additive Manufacturing Berlin-Brandenburg) Spotlight event will be focusing on the intersection of additive manufacturing and health innovation. AMBER is the central initiative for the expansion and networking of additive manufacturing in the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region and connects leading research institutions, innovative companies, start-ups and political actors. An exciting afternoon dedicated to the latest developments and applications of additive manufacturing in medical engineering, biotechnology and bioprinting awaits participants.
Key Topics will be:
- Applications in Medical Technology: Patient-specific medical devices through additive manufacturing
- Applications in Biotech & Bioprinting: Advances in 3D printed cell structures and cell culture systems
- Digital Processes: Integration of 3D scanning and modelling for state-of-the-art AM workflows
The event will take place at Ottobock SE & Co.KG (Bötzow-Areal) on September 16, 2025. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Andreas Schwitalla, ECDF Professor of “digital implantology” at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, will present his project as part of the AMBER Spotlight talk on this day. His project “ProAStra” is pursuing an approach to additive manufacturing of new types of dental implants with a highly automated, software-supported manufacturing chain. The development of a software application with medical design expertise forms the core of the project. The event will provide an interdisciplinary platform for networking and exchange between the medical field and the field of biotechnology as well as additive manufacturing and research. Seats are limited. Registration is possible //here.
